Privacy Policy for Fourier Anim

Ceurapelab ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Fourier Anim mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and who it is shared with.

By using Fourier Anim, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Fourier Anim has no user accounts, no login, and no backend server of our own. Specifically:

  • Your drawings. Shapes you draw are processed entirely on your device to compute the Fourier series and animation. We never see, store, transmit, or have access to anything you draw.
  • Exported videos. When you use the "share" feature, the App renders a video file locally on your device and hands it directly to the share sheet you choose (e.g. Messages, Email, a social app). We do not upload this video anywhere ourselves, and we never see or store a copy of it.
  • No analytics collected by us. We do not run our own analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs.

2. Information Collected by Third-Party Services

Fourier Anim uses the following third-party services, which may collect data independently of us, under their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob (advertising)

The App shows a full-screen ad (interstitial) from Google AdMob the first time you tap the refresh/reset button in a session. To serve and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process data including:

  • Advertising identifiers (e.g. Android Advertising ID)
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. You can learn more and manage your ad personalization settings at:

  • Your Android device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads) let you opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising ID.

Google Play services (In-App Updates)

The App uses Google Play's In-App Update API to check whether a newer version is available and, when required, prompt you to update. This interacts with your Google Play Store installation and is governed by Google Play's own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

3. How Information Is Used

To the extent any data is collected (exclusively by the third-party services described above), it is used to:

  • Serve and measure advertising
  • Detect and prompt for app updates
  • Maintain the security and reliability of Google's services

We do not use any data for our own advertising, profiling, or resale.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties ourselves, because we do not collect any in the first place. Data handled by Google AdMob and Google Play services is shared with Google in accordance with Google's own privacy policy, linked above.

5. Data Retention

Since we do not operate a server or collect data ourselves, we do not retain any user data. Your drawings and exported videos exist only on your device (and wherever you choose to share an exported video) — you can delete them at any time by clearing the App's cache or uninstalling the App.

6. Children's Privacy

Fourier Anim is intended for a general audience, including students learning engineering and signal-processing concepts, and is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App (via a third-party service such as AdMob), please contact us at the address above so we can address it.

If your App is later determined to appeal primarily to children, you must configure AdMob for child-directed treatment and comply with COPPA/GDPR-K requirements — this policy would need to be updated accordingly.

7. Your Choices

  • Ad personalization: manage or opt out via your device's ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization) or at https://adssettings.google.com.
  • Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored drawings and cached video exports from your device.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures appropriate to an app that stores no data on our own servers. Data handled by Google's services is protected under Google's own security practices.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this same URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
